My First Sip & Script Calligraphy Class at Akash Winery – Cheers to a Night of Creativity & Wine! 🍷🖋
You know that feeling when you try something new, and it turns out to be even better than you imagined? That was exactly what happened at my very first Sip & Script calligraphy class at Akash Winery! ✨
I’ve been a calligrapher and engraver for a while now, but this was my first time officially teaching with Sip & Script, and let me tell you—it was an absolute BLAST! Gorgeous vineyard views, a fabulous group of people, and, of course, amazing wine… I couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off this new adventure!
The Perfect Vibe at Akash Winery 🍇
If you’ve never been to Akash Winery, do yourself a favor and go ASAP. This place is STUNNING. Think: rolling vineyards, delicious wine, and the kind of ambiance that makes you want to sip, stay, and soak it all in.
Sips, Strokes & Ink Smudges (Oops!) 😆
We kicked things off with a little intro to modern calligraphy—how to hold the pen, getting the ink to flow (which can be a thing at first!), and practicing those first swoopy strokes. For a lot of guests, this was their first time ever trying calligraphy, but they totally crushed it!
There were lots of “Omg, this is so relaxing!” moments, a few “Wait, how did this ink blob happen?” giggles, and even some unexpectedly impressive natural talents in the group! I loved seeing everyone’s confidence grow with each letter—plus, wine makes everything better, right? 😉
Wine + Calligraphy = The Best Combo Ever 🍷✍️
One of my favorite things about teaching calligraphy is how chill and therapeutic it is. It’s literallty the perfect excuse to slow down, get a little artsy, and just enjoy the process. Add a glass of wine and it’s the ultimate self-care night out!
