Best Friend Senior Photoshoot | Spreckels Organ Pavilion, Balboa Park
When you’ve known two best friends since middle school, seeing them prepare for graduation is a pretty special moment. So when I had the chance to photograph these two guys, now seniors in the Class of 2025, at the iconic Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park, San Diego, we decided to go all out. We wanted to capture not only their friendship but also an elevated, editorial vibe to match their style and the importance of this milestone.
Editorial Vibes at Spreckels Organ Pavilion
We started the shoot at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion, which gave us this incredible, classic architectural backdrop. The guys arrived in perfectly coordinated suits — sharp, sleek, and ready to channel that high-fashion, editorial look we were going for. The grandeur of the Pavilion complemented their look beautifully, and we captured some truly standout shots right there. The contrast between the formal outfits and the timeless Pavilion structure gave the photos an effortlessly chic vibe.
After wrapping up the first set of shots, we made our way through Balboa Park, stopping near the United Nations area. You wouldn’t expect much from the surroundings near the bathroom area, but trust me, the greenery there is stunning. The natural backdrop added a refreshing touch to their formal look, balancing the structured feel of their suits with a touch of nature’s softness.
Switching Things Up with McLaren Gear
Now, these two are all about their style — and what better way to show off their personalities than by switching up the wardrobe? After the formal suit shots, they changed into their McLaren button-up shirts, adding a fun, laid-back car enthusiast vibe to the shoot. We took a few casual shots in this getup, which perfectly captured the essence of their friendship: playful, real, and totally themselves. They’ve got that easygoing energy that shines through even in more relaxed, candid moments.
Cap & Gown Moment: Senior Year 2025
To finish things off, we headed back to the Pavilion where the guys changed into their cap and gown. It was the perfect way to mark the end of an era as they get ready to graduate and move on to their next adventures. The Pavilion’s elegant architecture provided the perfect backdrop for these final shots, giving a sense of grandeur to the moment. There’s something so special about capturing this transition — the excitement, the accomplishment, and the anticipation of what comes next.
Seeing them in their cap and gown felt like a full-circle moment — I’ve known these guys since they were just middle schoolers, and now here they are, ready to take on the world as high school seniors, about to graduate in 2025. It's always such a privilege to capture these moments that mean so much, not just to them but to their families as well.
Why I Love Senior Sessions Like This
There’s something uniquely special about photographing best friends during their senior year. It’s not just about the individual milestone, but about capturing the bond and history that these two share. Why You Need a Professional Headshot for Your Next Hiring Event: A Fun Recap of “Hiring Our Heroes”
So, let me tell you all about this incredible event I just attended—Hiring Our Heroes. It’s this amazing initiative that helps veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses connect with hiring professionals. And let me tell you, it was SUCH a vibe! I had the best time offering LinkedIn headshots to all these wonderful people, and OMG—WE LOVE IT!
Now, before I start sprinkling in all the fun photos, let’s chat about why having a professional headshot is a game-changer for events like this.
Why You NEED a Professional Headshot
In the age of digital everything, your headshot is basically your online business card. Whether you’re at a job fair, networking event, or just updating your LinkedIn profile, a professional headshot helps you stand out. Here’s why it’s a total must-have:
1. Instant Credibility
Let’s be honest—your LinkedIn profile is one of the first things people check when they’re considering you for a job. A professional headshot gives off those polished and put-together vibes. It’s like your way of saying, “I’m serious about my career!” Plus, who doesn’t love looking like their best self in a headshot?
2. Stand Out from the Crowd
At events like Hiring Our Heroes, you’re surrounded by other super talented individuals. But when employers are scrolling through LinkedIn later, your headshot is what will help you stand out in their memory. It’s an easy way to make a lasting impression that keeps you top of mind.
3. Completes Your Personal Brand
Your headshot is more than just a photo—it’s a key part of your personal brand. Whether you’re switching industries, starting a new chapter, or just want a fresh look, a professional headshot ties everything together. It’s like the finishing touch to your LinkedIn, resume, and overall online presence!
Behind the Scenes at Hiring Our Heroes
At the event, I kept things classic and simple with one backdrop to create that professional LinkedIn-ready vibe. But, I’m SO excited to add black and white backdrops for future shoots! The black backdrop will give you that sleek, sharp look (perfect for corporate vibes), while the white backdrop will give you a bright, clean feel—super approachable and modern. So, stay tuned for those options! For now, you’ll see how the current backdrop brought out everyone's best side in the photos below!
Why I Love Offering Headshots at Events
There’s just something so special about helping people feel confident and ready to take on the world—and that’s exactly what I get to do with professional headshots. At events like Hiring Our Heroes, it’s even more meaningful because I get to be part of someone’s journey as they take the next big step in their career. It's such a rewarding experience, and I LOVE being able to offer something that will make a real difference for them.
And honestly? Getting your headshot taken at an event is such a no-brainer. You’re already there, making connections and putting your best foot forward—why not have a professional photo to match?
So, if you’ve been thinking about updating your LinkedIn photo or have a big event coming up, don’t hesitate! A professional headshot can seriously elevate your personal brand and help you stand out from the crowd. As you scroll through the post, you’ll see just how powerful a great headshot can be. Vibrant Couple’s Portraits in Carlsbad: F + L's Day of Sun, Love, and Laughter
Exploring downtown Carlsbad, Snacking at Harumama, and Enjoying a Romantic Sunset at Terramar Point
There are days as a photographer where everything just clicks, and this shoot with F+L in Carlsbad was one of those days! From the moment we started, it was clear that this was going to be one of those magical sessions where fun, spontaneity, and love all came together.
Our adventure kicked off with a walk through Carlsbad’s lively streets. We stumbled upon the most incredible graffiti wall, bursting with color, and I immediately knew it was going to make the perfect backdrop. I mean, come on — what could be better than vibrant artwork and two people with amazing chemistry?! Naturally, I suggested that F+L throw on their sunglasses for a few shots, and OH MY GOSH, they seriously looked like sunglass models straight out of a magazine.
We shot in the midday sun, which, let me tell you, can be tricky, but when it works, it really works. The bright sunlight made everything pop — from the colors of the wall to F+L’s energy. The shots came out so crisp, colorful, and vibrant, it was like the whole scene was alive. Honestly, some of my favorite moments as a couples photographer in Southern California are when everything comes together like that!
A Stop at Harumama for Some Sweet Bunny Fun
After soaking in the art and the sunshine, we made our way over to Harumama, this adorable little spot famous for their super cute, Nutella-filled bunny buns (yes, you read that right!). F+L couldn’t resist ordering a few, and I couldn’t resist capturing some shots of them holding the buns — seriously, those bunnies are just too cute to pass up.
While they snacked, I grabbed a few candid shots of them just enjoying the moment. I even managed to sneak the Harumama sign into the background for a little extra flair. There’s something so special about capturing those in-between moments — the ones where the couple is just being themselves, laughing, eating, and soaking up the day. Those natural, candid moments are what I live for as a photographer.
Sunset Magic at Terramar Point
After some fun with the bunnies, we headed over to Terramar Point, one of my favorite coastal spots in Carlsbad for catching that perfect golden hour glow. Now, let’s talk about the surprise we got when we arrived — it was like the seaweed had taken over! It was this weird summer thing, but honestly, we made it work because, as a photographer, you learn to roll with the punches, right?
Despite the seaweed situation, we hit the jackpot with the sunset. The sky turned into this dreamy, warm palette, and the light just wrapped around F+L like magic. I captured them holding each other, framed by the most beautiful sunset, and it honestly felt like a scene from a movie. The intimacy and affection between them, combined with that golden hour glow, was everything I could’ve hoped for — and more.
Why I Love Sessions Like These
This session with F+L was the perfect example of why I love being a couples photographer in Southern California. From the bright, fun urban shots to the soft, romantic beach moments, the day was a beautiful blend of playful and heartfelt. Every couple brings their own energy to a shoot, and with F+L, it was all about their genuine connection, their laughter, and the little moments that made the day unforgettable.
If you’re looking for couples portraits that reflect your unique personality — whether it’s urban chic or beachy romance — I’ve got you covered! And if you’re thinking about scheduling a session during that stunning golden hour, trust me, you won’t regret it. Let’s capture those intimate, joyful moments that you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

Mt. San jacinto college cap and gown session for m
Let’s celebrate the ladies who win!
Congratulations to this lady for graduating from college in California! We celebrated her photo shoot with a cap and gown session at a local nearby park. She’s on her way to becoming a psychologist and I am so excited to see where she goes!
Sacred Ink Microblading | Brand and Business Photoshoot
The day began in Old Town Sacramento, where the location for the shoot was to begin.
I met Brittney a couple months prior to her shoot, at a local spot in downtown Sacramento. We had pretzels and cheese, chatted about living up here in this area, talked about work, goals, and careers. She was so sweet and kind, and possibly one of the sweetest souls I’ve encountered since moving here, and unbeknownst to me, she was also this hardworking, soul-driven individual that was super talented and an overall amazing human.
When she told me she was going to re-start her microblading business, I was super excited! Also! Surprised! I had no idea she did this prior to the pandemic. I had just learned that she was also a super talented artist! Her artwork is so pretty and the detail in her drawings are next level! I knew that her microblading business would soon take off, so I was more than honored when she asked me to photograph her working behind-the-scenes with a client for her business!
So, we decided on a date and ran with it!
I am just so in love with the natural lighting the comes through the windows, along with that urban feel that the brick wall gives. Brittney’s outfit was just so perfect for the space; a subtle glam look with her bold industrial boots.
Merchandise Photoshoot for Sacramento’s local Donut Shop Bad Baker’s
Sacramento’s local bakery, Bad Baker’s, got new merchandise products in, so I brought in some amazing people I’ve met in the area to model for me for their brand. I am always so thankful for the amazing people I’ve been able to meet on my life journey. Thank you to the models who were down to pose and follow directions from me as I got the shots. We found a cute green wall that was just the perfect backdrop for these images, giving it a good urban feel.
N at Helemano Farms | Mini Sessions Oahu, Hawaii
Helemano Farms is one of those magical places where the holiday spirit meets the tropical charm of Oahu. For N’s holiday mini session, her parents wanted to capture the season’s joy with a whimsical touch, and N truly brought it to life. From the moment we started, N gave off major Alice in Wonderland vibes—curious, playful, and full of wonder. Surrounded by rows of towering Christmas trees, it felt like she had stepped into her own enchanted forest.
Dressed in an adorable holiday outfit that perfectly matched her vibrant personality, N began decorating a little tree with candy canes. It was the sweetest moment, watching her thoughtfully place each candy cane on the branches, her eyes lighting up with each addition. The scene reminded me of a storybook, with N as the star of her own holiday adventure. We captured those moments of pure joy—her tiny hands reaching up to hang the candy, the giggles when a branch swayed, and the satisfaction in her smile once the tree was adorned.
The whole setting was dreamy; sunlight filtered through the pines, casting a soft glow that made the scene feel even more magical. I took the opportunity to capture N’s playful energy, photographing her in motion as she ran around the tree, the candy canes swaying with her every move. The bright pops of red against the lush green made for stunning, whimsical images that perfectly captured the essence of the holidays in Hawaii.
We continued our adventure through the farm, with N exploring every little nook like Alice discovering her Wonderland. She twirled in her dress, picked up pine needles, and posed with the confidence and spirit only a child can bring. It was one of those sessions where every click of the camera felt like capturing a piece of magic.
Toward the end of our session, N’s parents joined in for some family shots, creating warm and genuine moments that made the day even more special. The way N snuggled into her parents, surrounded by the festive scenery, made for some truly heartwarming captures. We wrapped up with a few close-ups of N, the decorated tree, and those classic candy canes—moments that felt straight out of a holiday fairy tale.
N’s session at Helemano Farms was more than just a photoshoot; it was an adventure filled with imagination, laughter, and the magic of the season. These are the kinds of moments that make holiday mini sessions so memorable—simple, sweet, and beautifully captured in a place where Oahu’s natural beauty meets the spirit of the holidays.
If you’re looking to create your own holiday wonderland, Helemano Farms is the perfect backdrop. With its charming rows of pines, island sunshine, and a touch of whimsy, it’s a place where memories are made, and stories come to life. I’m so excited to share these enchanting images with N’s family and can’t wait for more festive mini sessions filled with joy and a sprinkle of magic.
