HANDAVĒ — BY ADRIANE NICOLE
HANDAVĒ
hahn · dah · VAY
I am the fourth of five kids in a Filipino family. That means I learned early that food is not just food — it is how you show up for each other. It is how you say: you matter, I prepared, I was thinking of you before you arrived.
HANDAVĒ is my adult version of those gatherings. Four times a year, I set a table for eight people in Temecula. The menu changes with the season and with what I am curious about. Every invitation, every menu card, every place card is hand-calligraphed by me. Every detail is considered. Nothing is accidental.
This is not a restaurant. It is not a supper club. It is my practice — the place where everything I make comes together at once.
THE NAME
A word I made
from two older ones.
Handa — Filipino
A prepared feast. The word my family used for the spread laid out before guests arrived — the act of cooking as an act of welcome. You were handa before anyone knocked.
Convivium — Latin
The ancient Roman tradition of gathering at table — not just to eat, but to be together. Unhurried. Present. The meal as an occasion for real conversation.
HANDAVĒ is the place where those two ideas meet. Filipino abundance and Roman intentionality. My inheritance and my practice. The feast and the gathering.
THE GATHERING
Four times a year.
Eight seats. One table.
The menus move with the seasons and pull from the cultures I have loved and lived inside — Filipino, Japanese, Hawaiian, and beyond. Multiple courses. Thoughtfully sourced ingredients. The kind of meal that earns its time.
Seasonal ingredients, thoughtfully sourced
·Multiple courses, multicultural in influence
·Hand-calligraphed invitations, menus, and place cards
·No phones — just presence
·Real conversation, unhurried time
·A table designed and set by hand — every detail intentional
WHAT THIS IS NOT
Not a restaurant or supper club
Not formal or stuffy — elegant, yes, but warm
Not content — your experience is yours
Not for sale — this is a creative practice, not a product"This is where I root.
This is how I gather.
This is my handa."
Every detail, by hand.
HANDAVĒ is where I show — not tell — what I am capable of. The calligraphy, the tablescape, the menu design, the food, the photography: every element is conceived and executed by me. It is a total creative environment, built from scratch, four times a year.
If you are planning a wedding, a brand activation, or an experiential event and you want to understand what working with me actually looks like — this is the clearest answer I can give you.

HANDAVE
A private seasonal dinner series - 4x/year, 8 seats/table. Every element designed and executed by hand: the menu, the calligraphy, the tablescape, the food itself. My filipino inheritance expressed as a total creative enviornment.
A note for brand partners. If you make something beautiful - an oil, a ceramic, a wine, a spice - and you want it to live inside a story rather than just a caption, that is the kind of collaboration I am building toward.
I bring my own world to yours: the calligraphy, the table, the food, the photograph. Everything considered, nothing borrowed. If that kind of intentional partnership interests you, I would love to talk.

2026
The rooting year.
I am not trying to do more. I am, instead, trying to do less, better.
This year is intentional. I am building slowly. A dinner series. A class series. A studio practice. I am choosing depth over breadth. I am choosing the work that only I can make.
If that sounds like the kind of collaboration you are looking for, I would love to hear from you.
Let’s make
something together.
Whether you’re a brand looking for a live activation, a couple planning a wedding, or someone who simply wants something made with care. There’s no commitment in reaching out. Just a conversation.
